Facebook vs. Patriot Act

got pointed to this slashdot link courtesy of Zach, and got me thinking about the continuing privacy debate on sites like facebook and myspace. I've always been less outspoken against the "privacy invasions" than some in the past mainly because I always felt if you're not hiding anything to begin with, why should you care? Or if you're dumb enough to brag online about committing some illegal activity or whatnot. However to me using these sites against you for employment rather than legal purposes crosses some sort of invisible line, and should not be happening.
Regardless people have to realize what they put out there is not private, more so with myspace, as evidenced by the number of times you will come across random myspace sites on several search engines.
